(not so) exclusive interview with ESPN's Bill Simmons
ESPN's The Sports Guy Bill Simmons was at the K Street Borders on Wednesday night signing copies of the updated paperback version his NY Times bestseller The Book of Basketball: The NBA According to The Sports Guy.
I am a huge Bill Simmons fan and religiously read his witty columns on espn.com and listen to his extremely popular podcast. He covers a wide variety of sports and pop culture topics with a slant towards his hometown Boston teams. His acclaimed documentary series 30 for 30, guest spots on PTI and tweets are also must see entertainment for me.
Bill possesses my favorite trait of a good writer, someone who can get you excited about things you normally wouldn't care about like in depth analysis of Boston sports teams, Beverly Hills 90210 and the Real World Road Rules Challenge.
Naturally I was exited when I heard that he included DC on his mini book tour and promptly created an appointment on my Outlook calendar. I also cashed in a bunch of the good boyfriend chips I've earned to get the other blogger to wait in line with me and take a picture. Last week I showed her this awww inspiring article about Bill and his daughter to seal the deal.
Bill was kind enough to take some time for a (very) short conversation with That's What She Fed. Here a full transcript of our interview
That's What She Fed: Hey Bill. What's your favorite game day food?
Bill Simmons: What's That?
TWSF: What's your favorite food to eat on game day?
BS: Boneless buffalo wings......... is that what you were expecting?
TWSF: No, that was a curveball.
So there you have it, next time you sit down to watch the Patriots or Celtics, follow the Sports Guy's lead and order some boneless buffalo wings.
